You can find a bio on my corporate website. Instead of the same old rundown of who I am and what I’ve accomplished, I’ll share something a little more interesting here. How about a list of what I consider the coolest life experiences I’ve encountered?

Lynn Lamousin’s Favorite Life Experiences

1) Being assigned to write a travel article on a spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was given the nicest suite in the hotel, a huge gift basket, unlimited free dining, plus all the spa treatments I wanted. I called Mother from the airport as I headed back to my routine life and said to her, “I wish I was always important.”

2) Being assigned to cover the Sundance Film Festival. I had attended the event previously as a wannabe filmmaker. Even though I now have a film to my credit, I still feel like an outsider at most indie film events. It felt nice to be there with a real purpose and mission.

3) Taking a night train from Paris, France to Rome, Italy. I was traveling with a dear friend who had just taken a job in Rome and we made her move there into a vacation. We rented a sleeper cabin, got food off the trolley and read the London Times. I felt like I was in an old film.

4) Making a feature film and traveling the U.S. as it played in film festivals. My favorite trip was to San Francisco when The Lady from Sockholm played in the Mill Valley Film Festival. It’s a very prestigious regional festival run by the California Film Institute and they footed the bill for me to attend. Two of my crew members traveled with me and we had a great time. Another extremely memorable moment in this experience was the film’s premiere at the Rialto Theatre in Atlanta. The whole cast and crew was there, along with hundreds of supportive movielovers. What a rush.
